Hubron takes particular care in its selection of raw materials to ensure safety of our customers, employees, neighbours and our environment.

Our products are applicable to most international regulatory standards. Statements on content and compliance with international regulations is available on request.

Restriction, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACh)

  • Under REACh, compounds and masterbatches are considered as preparations – a mixture of substances with different chemical identity.
  • Hubron works with all its raw material suppliers and takes all necessary measures to ensure continued availability and supply of all substances used in their products.
  • Hubron products are compliant with REACh regulation 1907/2006, including restrictions of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH).

California Proposition 65

  • Proposition 65 refers to the California legislation regarding the prohibition of harmful toxic substances. The Proposition was intended by its authors to protect California citizens and the State’s drinking water sources from chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and to inform citizens about exposures to such chemicals.
  • The statute states that “no person in the course of doing business shall knowingly and intentionally expose any individual to a chemical known to the state (California) to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity without first giving a clear and reasonable warning…”

RoHS and WEEE Compliance

  • The European Union Restricts the use of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) Directive (2011/65/EU) and The European Waste Electrical and Electronic Directive (WEEE).
  • Hubron’s careful selection of raw material provide optimal performance of its black masterbatches and conductive compounds whilst ensuring compliance to the European Regulations for Electrical and Electronic Equipment.

Packaging and Packaging Waste

  • The EU Directive on Packaging and Packaging Waste (94/62/EC) restricts the presence of certain heavy metals in packaging with the goal of protecting the environment from hazardous substances and materials.
  • Hubron’s careful selection of raw material provide optimal performance of its black masterbatches and conductive compounds whilst ensuring compliance to the European Regulations for Packaging and Packaging Waste.

CONEG (Coalition of Northeast Governors) Legislation

  • Was established in 1976 as a non-partisan association, which encourages intergovernmental cooperation in the Northeast of America. In the 1990s the association developed the Model Toxics in Packaging Legislation, which is designed to phase out the use and presence of heavy metals in packaging and packaging components. Although the legislation was originally developed for the Northeastern states of North America, the model legislation has become an internationally recognized standard.
  • Hubron’s careful selection of raw material provide optimal performance of its black masterbatches and conductive compounds whilst ensuring compliance to the European Regulations for CONEG.

End of Life Vehicle Directive

  • Hubron supplies several of its grades into the automotive industry.
  • Directive 2000/53/EC is meant to minimize the impact of the end of life of vehicles on environment by restricting the use of certain heavy metals.
  • Hubron’s careful selection of raw material provide optimal performance of its black masterbatches and conductive compounds whilst ensuring compliance to the European Regulations for End of Life Vehicles (ELV) Directive (2000/53/EC).

Global Automotive Declarable Substance List (GADSL)

  • GADSL is a voluntary environmental compliance system that automotive manufacturers use to keep their environmental management in a leading position.
  • The GADSL list contains only those substances directly related to the automotive industry.
  • Hubron’s careful selection of raw material provide optimal performance of its black masterbatches and conductive compounds whilst ensuring compliance to the GADSL.
